Fullerton Union High School (FUHS) has long been a cornerstone of the city’s athletic community. The school’s teams, known as the Indians, have a storied history in the California Interscholastic Federation’s Southern Section. Notably, beginning in the 2026-27 academic year, FUHS’s sports teams will adopt the new moniker, the Red Hawks, marking a new chapter in their athletic legacy.

In recent years, FUHS has celebrated significant achievements. The Varsity Stunt Team became a CIF-SS Division 2 Finalist, showcasing the dedication of both athletes and coaching staff. Additionally, the school’s Indoor Drumline earned its first-ever gold medal at the WGASC Championships, a testament to the hard work and talent of its members.

Similarly, Troy High School offers a comprehensive athletics program, participating in a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, soccer, track and field, and volleyball. As a member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), Troy High School’s athletics program is well-regarded for its commitment to excellence.

Collegiate Sports: Fullerton College’s Legacy

Fullerton College, established in 1916, has a proud tradition of athletic excellence. The Hornets have secured numerous conference, state, and national championships across various sports. The college offers a diverse range of intercollegiate athletics for both men and women, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and water polo.

Notable alumni from Fullerton College include MLB pitcher Steve DeBerg and NFL quarterback Steve DeBerg, highlighting the institution’s role in nurturing professional athletic talent.
